New mission statement adopted

On May 31, after a thorough examination of the roots, present and future of Nisbet Lodge and McClintock Manor, the Board approved a new mission and vision statement.

Drawing from a bigger volunteer pool

At the Nisbet Lodge annual general meeting on June 29th, the members adopted a new bylaw that allows Nisbet Lodge to draw Board members from a greater pool of volunteers.  Now up to 40 percent (40%) of the Board can come from the broader Christian community.

On July 23rd Nisbet Lodge hosted an antique car show.  Over a dozen vintage vehicles were on display and visitors were also treated to a steel pan performance.

Seniors of Tomorrow goal reached!

Thanks to our many donors, as well as the hard work of our Foundation board and Fundraising Committee, we have completed the ‘Planning for the Seniors of Tomorrow Campaign’!  This $200,000 fund provides the Board with resources to explore options for redevelopment of Nisbet Lodge.

Refurbishment of the Boehmer dining room and staff lunchroom!

Look for the official refurbishment celebration of the Boehmer dining room in early October.

“Radical generosity” recognized

At our Donor Appreciation evening on March 3rd, Dr. Bruce Smith, Chaplain, King-Bay Chaplaincy and Upper Canada College spoke on “Radical Generosity”.  That same evening the Foundation recognized Achieva Health as Nisbet’s Corporate Sponsor of the Year, and honoured its CEO Toula Reppas.  We also added ten more names to the Wall of Honour.

Welcome to our new Foundation Board member

Former city councilor Jane Pitfield has joined our Foundation Board.  Jane has connected us with “GiveGet” – a credit card points program from which a portion of the rewards goes to participating charities as cash.  We will be promoting participation throughout the coming year.

Mother’s Day Weekend Walk

Our annual Mother’s Day Walkathon raised $11,000 for the Nisbet Lodge-McClintock Manor Foundation.

Our annual Nisbet Lodge Charity Golf Tournament raised $14,000 for the Nisbet Lodge-McClintock Manor Foundation.

We want to help you make the right decision, so you’ll find a lot of information here. We welcome your inquiries.

We also invite you to arrange a tour. Even though all placements for long-term care start with the Toronto Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), a tour can be a very helpful part of your decision.

One of our goals is to be the residence of choice for those wishing to live in a faith-based long- term-care home or senior’s apartment in East Toronto.
