I was born in a house on the street behind McClintock Manor and attended Calvary Church. Through the foresight of one of our elders, who felt there was a need for retired seniors to have a home near the church, McClintock Manor was built. I have lived here for a number of years. I have access to the church, Nisbet Lodge and, of course, the Danforth. I even have the subway and buses right across the street. I have enjoyed living as a tenant in McClintock Manor.

I chose McClintock Manor because I was able to stay in the neighbourhood I’d lived in for the previous 30 years. The subway is across the street, shopping is close at hand and I can walk to church. As well, we knew my husband would soon need accommodation at Nisbet Lodge. The Lodge appealed to us because of the sense of family among residents, and the excellent nursing staff, as well as the beautiful dining room – not to mention the active Family Council, the pastoral care and on-site social worker. I appreciate the wonderful support from the Pastors at Calvary Church, and the close supportive friendships I’ve formed at McClintock. We enjoy many activities together. I can spend time with my husband next door, and even get meals at a reasonable cost. All together, it’s really the sense of community that means the most to me.
